Ludwing Salvator, Archduke of Austria
Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria landed in Mallorca for the first time in summer 1867 and in September he moved there. Totally in love with this island, he bought real estate, studious of the arts and sciences, and wrote everything he learnt on his masterpiece “Die Balearen”.
The Archduke Path
The Archduke ordered this beautiful path that runs next to the cliffs between Valldemossa and Deia. From there, views are breathtaking: not only you can see those villages mentioned before, also we can spot the highest peak of the island, Puig Major, and others as l’Ofre, Massanella and Galatzó.
